Fraud Detection Specialist — Full Role Description

Role overview A Fraud Detection Specialist identifies, prevents, and investigates fraudulent activity across transactions, accounts, user behavior, and systems. The role blends analytical investigation, real-time risk monitoring, and cross-functional coordination to reduce losses and protect customers and the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor real-time transactions and account activity; assess alerts, block or release decisions, and trigger additional verification when needed.

  • Conduct end-to-end investigations: gather evidence, reconstruct timelines, identify modus operandi, document findings in case systems.

  • Analyze trends in chargebacks, disputes, and incidents to refine rules, thresholds, and model features; reduce false positives.

  • Operate and tune fraud tools: risk scoring systems, device/behavioral intelligence, rules engines, and ML-based detectors; propose new logic.

  • Produce dashboards and reports on fraud metrics, losses, recovery, and emerging patterns; brief leadership and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with payments, risk, security, compliance/AML, SOC, and customer support; escalate high-severity cases and coordinate actions.

  • Contribute to policy and process design: detections, reviews, KYC/KYB controls, dispute handling, and loss recovery procedures.

  • Support remediation and recovery efforts: transaction reversals, account actions, customer outreach, and preventive control rollout.

  • Track emerging threats (account takeover, synthetic IDs, mule networks) and advise on control gaps across products and processes.

What We Offer We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $105,800 to $174,800. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $127,100 to $198,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. Responsibilities: Our Life Safety and Security engineering team, is at the heart of our business. Multi-skilled across multiple technologies and product ranges, our engineers possess a wide range of knowledge built up over many years. Customer service oriented and driven to deliver the very best levels of engineering, our engineers take pride in their daily work. This role would suit someone who has strong networking and IT skills, and also has an undertsanding of IP CCTV. This role will include a programme of mentored training and development to assist the individual as required, but also with a view to future progression and succession planning. Responsibilities
  • Install, Commission and Servicing of our wide range of field equipment including, CCTV, WAN/LAN & wireless, server and storage systems
  • Retrofit upgrades / extensions to existing systems as part of remedial works packages.
  • Provide high levels of customer services.
  • Understanding site plans, to allow installs to take part based on site survey documentation.
Experience:
  • Capability of lone-working and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence
  • DBS clearance (for working in schools)
Skills:
  • Good people management skills
  • Technical expertise in predominant skillset area
  • Competent admin skills with sound working knowledge of internal business system.
  • IPAF/ PASMA/ Asbestos Awareness certification (preferred if available but training will be provided)
  • Recent/current electrical qualifications
  • Sound and proven LAN/WAN/SD-WAN networking skills (Aruba and/or Cisco accredited)
  • Knowledge of industry standard CCTV manufacturers preferred (Bosch, Dahau, Hikvision, Genetec, Veracity, Briefcam, Milestone)
