Remote work is not available, however the individual may be able to work at our Rock Hill Center upon completion of training. Responsibilities And Duties The Cybersecurity Analyst is responsible for ensuring effective integration of Information Technology systems and services with the Information Security Program and Information Security Policy. The Cybersecurity Analyst is primarily responsible for protecting Founders from cyberattacks. This involves researching upcoming IT trends, reviewing suspicious activities, reporting security breaches, and educating employees on cybersecurity. The Cybersecurity Analyst will support and participate in the FIT offerings related to cybersecurity. Additional Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
  • Monitor cybersecurity software used in environment.
  • Investigate incoming alerts and escalate as necessary.
  • Investigate suspicious email reports.
  • Review incoming incident response hotline calls.
  • Threat hunting within the environment to prevent security incidents.
  • Perform vulnerability scans in environment. Research solutions to vulnerabilities and work alongside system owners and techs to remediate vulnerabilities.
  • Create Threat Assessments to aid in evaluating risks posed by vulnerabilities or potential threats based on research of upcoming trends and intelligence feeds.
  • Work with other CSOC team members to create and execute Security Awareness Training and Testing for the enterprise and FIT clients.
  • Gather information as required to present in board reports.
  • Assist with maintaining email filtering systems and release emails when deemed safe.
  • Participate in CSOC team meetings.
  • Assist with reviewing and remediating items found during audits, both internal and external.
  • Develop and support cybersecurity environments for FIT CUSO clients.
  • On-Call Rotation for after hour alerts/cybersecurity.
  • Comply with Founders’ policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws, regulations, and statutes issued by federal agencies such as NCUA and FFIEC, including, but not limited to, GLBA and BSA. Job Specifications The Cybersecurity Analyst must have the ability to analyze, research, and resolve questions and possess the ability to learn quickly and adjust to technological changes. The ideal candidate must have the following skills & qualifications:
  • Excellent communication, documentation skills, and the ability to understand and explain technical details to technical and non-technical audiences is required to be successful.

In LAUSD’s Information Technology Services, a Cyber Security Engineer II configures, evaluates, operates and maintains a variety of security controls and tools to perform complex Cyber Security operational tasks including developing and evaluating approaches to solving Cyber Security challenges.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluates and participates in the development of requirements for network and security technologies and devices to ensure the requirements are adequate for the District.
  • Performs network security device and appliance testing, implementation, and maintenance via installation, upgrades, patches, and updates with appropriate security controls such as authentication and configuration.

  • Analyzes and corrects security-related connectivity issues utilizing network management systems.
  • Configures firewalls by creating and maintaining access list rules, creating object groups and
processing network addressing translation requests to maintain access control.
  • Configures the District’s web access filter by processing requests on dashboard to ensure the functionality of the system and review dashboard for actionable items.
  • Fulfills Virtual Private Network (VPN) requests by adding new users to active directory VPN groups, maintaining and configuring access lists, adding IP addresses to access list, assign software token for password generation, and review authentication logs and troubleshoot access issues.
  • Recommends security solutions or enhancements to existing security solutions to improve overall
enterprise security.
  • Collaborates with higher level engineers in the deployment, integration and initial configuration of all new security solutions and of any enhancements to existing security solutions.
  • Researches IT security issues and industry trends to make recommendations for internal improvement.
  • Performs related duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field. Qualifying experience in addition to that required may be substituted on a year-for-year basis provided that the requirement of a high school diploma or equivalent is met. Experience: Four years of recent experience in the engineering, installation, configuration, and maintenance of security devices for a large organization; such as next-generation firewalls, Virtual Private Networks, intrusion detection/prevention systems, multi-factor authentication, next-generation endpoint security, and Security Information Event Management systems. Special: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security, Cisco Certified CyberOps Professional or equivalent is required and must be kept valid during the term of employment Any Global Information Assurance Certification GIAC certification is preferred Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation level certification is preferable A valid driver’s license to legally operate a motor vehicle in the state of California and the use of a motor vehicle.

The Fragiadakis (Data Science) and Combes (Disease to Biology) Labs, are seeking researchers in computational biology, bioinformatics, and data science to tackle current challenges in immunology. As a member of the lab, you will learn the analysis methods, as well as the conceptual and biological background, to analyze -omics datasets such as CyTOF, single-cell sequencing, and spatial transcriptomics. Once comfortable with these methods, under direct supervision, you will perform analyses to contribute to our understanding of immune state in our patient cohorts. You will integrate molecular data with clinical information to understand how the immune system impacts disease outcomes. You will be expected to document your analyses, present your progress and results, and participate in lab meetings. We currently have several projects examining the relationship between immune state and health outcomes in a variety of UCSF patient cohorts, including infection, autoimmunity, and cancer. Our aim is to better understand how the immune system is wired and responds, to develop better disease diagnosis and treatments. As a member of our labs, you will contribute to the design of new experiments, help maintain our computational infrastructure, and track the flow of samples and information for large-scale studies. This position is jointly offered by Dr. Alexis Combes and Dr. Gabriela Fragiadakis, who both direct CoLab teams that often collaboratively pursue questions of immune state using single-cell methods, providing an environment of wet-lab and computational biologists with whom to work. While this position requires some proficiency in programming and data analysis, candidates who are fast and eager learners, who can readily adopt new bioinformatics pipelines/workflows that have been developed in the lab and the field at-large and apply them to a series of diverse projects can be successful in this role. An aptitude for collaborative work and organization is required to excel in our environment of diverse researchers. The candidate will receive training in data analysis, as well as develop expertise and intuition in biology. CoLabs is a new model for research collaborations for the UCSF community. CoLabs centralizes research teams and creates a set of common pipelines and workflows. It recruits and retains world class staff and trainees and develops transformative methods and technologies through engagement with the research community and institutional investments. The CoLabs initiative is comprised of five labs: Biological Imaging Development (BIDC), Data Science (DS), Disease to Biology (D2B), Flow Cytometry, and Genomics. Overview

As a Penetration Tester you will perform formal and comprehensive penetration testing assessments, including producing full written reports to appropriate standards and within agreed deadlines. In addition, you will support with client pre-engagement activities, including scoping and proposal drafting, as well as researching application and infrastructure vulnerabilities, following responsible disclosure, and sharing such findings within the team.  

Responsibilities

  • Perform formal and comprehensive application, infrastructure and other penetration testing assessments where appropriate and required
  • Provide well-written, concise, technical and non-technical reports in English
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and provide findings with remediation actions
  • Support with various client pre-engagement interactions, including scoping activities and proposal drafting to ensure that client needs are met
  • Manage and deliver penetration testing project activities within strict deadlines
  • Support the QA process to ensure high quality client reports are delivered in accordance with applicable Service Level Agreement (SLA)
  • Any other appropriate job duties in line with the associated skill and experience of the post holder
 

Skills and experience required

  • Proven industry experience in application and infrastructure penetration testing
  • Deep knowledge of assessing both Windows and Linux environments, including strong knowledge of Active Directory and wireless technologies
  • Ability in preparing and launching social engineering campaigns (both phishing and vishing)
  • Strong understanding of OWASP, PTES and other penetration testing methodologies
  • Knowledge of how modern web apps are designed, developed and deployed across different platforms
  • Ability to program or script in your preferred language
  • Relevant degree in Computer Science, Ethical Hacking, Engineering or other relevant subject
  • Relevant security qualifications (such as OSCP, CEH, GPEN)
  • Good knowledge and understanding of network and OS principles
  • Good knowledge of various operating systems
  • Good knowledge of virtualization
 

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of assessing cloud and hybrid environments (AWS and Azure)
