Title: Sr. Network Engineer

 Must Have

 

  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a senior Network Engineer with Cisco and Palo Alto systems designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level LAN/WAN/WLAN networks.
  • Minimum 8 years , Confident senior level experience with Cisco/Palo Alto routers, switches, wireless networks, LAN (routing protocols, switching protocols, wireless networks, spanning tree and related)
  • 6+ years – Strong Spanning tree, implementations and troubleshooting
  • 6+ years (current) experience with Cisco VSS , CISCO ASA used for VPN’s
  • 7+ year experience in communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF) 
  • 6+ years Current experience designing secure wireless networks, and upgrades – integrate Cisco wireless access points
  • Advanced knowledge of OSPF and BGP routing protocols, with experience implementing them on Cisco devices
  • CCNP Certifications along with other Cisco and Palo Alto certs
  • Cloud AWS is a plus (migrations from on-prem to cloud infrastructure)

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

As a security-first organization, Technology Delivery Services (TDS) is part of the Information Technology (IT) Department. The TDS teams include Information Security, Planning (architecture and PMO), Application Development, HR & Payroll Development, Infrastructure, and Client Services teams. We maintain an innovative, inclusive, and supportive work environment.

POSITION SUMMARY

Support our data network and services including data centers, AWS cloud network services, wide area/metro area/local area networks. The incumbent manages operational reliability and performance of existing buildings and wide-area networks and quickly resolves any network service interruptions that occur. As required by business changes, extends, and enhances the company network. May be required to implement new configurations in AWS, data centers or desktop environments. This position works as part of a Network Engineering group. May require travel outside of normal business hours. Participate in 24×7 on-call support rotation

  • Clearly understands the communications and network needs of the organization and has skills needed to address those needs.
  • In-depth, advanced understanding of various network hardware platforms, network-related protocols, and software, including an understanding of OSI layers IP/TCP protocols at a complex level and related technical standards critical to the operation of interconnected networks.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze highly complex communication hardware and software systems for maintaining a real-time resource that impacts OP-wide network users.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather, organize and analyze data in the completion of a variety of functional assignments.
  • Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
  • Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to interpret cabling plans and oversee installers to ensure standards are meet. Familiar with cabling and termination specification, maintenance, and problem determination.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco VSS, routers, switches, Cisco wireless, Palo Alto Network FW, Global Protect VPN.
  • Ability to deploy and maintain Infoblox DDI
  • Ability to design and deploy network-related configurations in AWS.
  • At least 8 years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise LAN/WAN/WLAN networks.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Infoblox NIOS-based DNS/DHCP/IPAM implementations.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco VSS, routers, switches, Cisco wireless.
  • In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF)
  • Familiarity with access control models and network security
  • Ability to plan, configure, and install Citrix NetScaler/ADC load balancing, redirect, and content switching configurations.

 

Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience/training.
  • CCNA Certification
